There is Another Plant Growing from My Bromeliad. What Do I Do?
Author: Melanie DearringerNo Comments
Congratulations! Your bromeliad has begun to propagate. The new plant that is growing from your bromeliad is referred to as a pup. Mature bromeliads can produce pups at any time but it is most common for them to start appearing after your plant has bloomed.
You will want to leave the pup attached to the original plant until it is approximately 1/3 to 1/2 the size its mother. For more information on when and how to remove a bromeliad pup, correct pot them, and how their care requirements differ from the mother plant, check out our free Guide to Bromeliad Pups.
